The Deserter

The Deserter is a PC/Console vertical slice set on an alien planet, drawing inspiration from Moroccan markets and Brazilian favelas. Developed by a team of 13 over 14 weeks, the project involved building the entire environment from the ground up. This included procedural landscape generation in Houdini, procedural wires and cloth simulations, prop creation, and a sophisticated master material for full in-engine material control. Additionally, a complete lighting system was implemented, allowing for dynamic atmospheric adjustments and vista planet customization.
